HAYDEN, Idaho — A man who believed he bore the “mark of the beast” used a circular saw to cut off one hand, then he cooked it in the microwave and called 911, authorities said.
The man, in his mid-20s, was calm when Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies arrived Saturday in this northern Idaho town. He was in protective custody in the mental health unit of Kootenai Medical Center.
“It had been somewhat cooked by the time the deputy arrived,” sheriff’s Capt. Ben Wolfinger said. “He put a tourniquet on his arm before, so he didn’t bleed to death. That kind of mental illness is just sad.”
It was not immediately clear whether the man has a history of mental illness. Hospital spokeswoman Lisa Johnson would not say whether an attempt was made to reattach the hand, citing patient confidentiality.
The Book of Revelation in the New Testament contains a passage in which an angel is quoted as saying: “If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury.”
The book of Matthew also contains the passage: “And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.”
Wolfinger said he didn’t know which hand was amputated.

Well at first i thought he cut his right hand off cause he used it to jack off…i thought it would be something funny like that…but i have fought entities and bullshit evil feelings/spirits which can’t be described as anything else myself so i dont find this too surprising…I too was put into a mental institution for quoting the bible without having ever read it before all this…for anyone who doesn’t believe what’s coming, i’m very sorry…but this man shows desperation and that he did in fact, change his ways. he should be rewarded, not degraded…but yes i must admit, the microwave was a bit too far buddy.

First of all, if he would have takes the make of the beast (which we all have to talk sometime in no too far future) it is too late for him already. He would go to hell, doesn’t matter what he does.
If his hand caused him to sin, and he didn’t have control over it anymore, then cutting it off was probably the right thing to do.
I have no explanation for why he cooked it in the microwave.

I think he cut off his hand and called for help so he wouldn’t die, then microwaved it to make very sure that they couldn’t re-attach it. Sadly, I’ve known some people like this. This one guy I went to school with, he was putting himself in and out of mental homes for a long time, and felt that the bible was his only way to redeem himself. They’ll take anything the bible says literally because they’re just desperate and seeking hope. However, the guy I knew was violent to others more than himself… almost attacked my sister. We had to have security guards and cameras put in our school for the sole purpose of keeping him out. I hope this poor guy will be alright.
And when you think about it from the pessimistic point of view, being faithful in anything, religion or not, is a pretty crazy thing to do. Because you’re probably just doomed to fail and be disappointed in the end.

It’s funny how christianity members seem to only fallow the things, they think are not crazy, “When I die, my soul would release from my body, and decent onto heaven.”(assuming you were forgiven for your sins(which just about every normal day routine is a sin. hehe) Though, the thing’s crazy such as ‘cutting off your hand due to sin’. Is a little to much for them, perhaps Christianity has evolved to a more self philosophy rather then an absolute religion, everyone has opinion’s about their way to use life, if you’re using the bible as a reference, do not call yourself Christian. That is no more then digging for daily life solutions or choices. If you were Christian, this man would be completely rational. However.. given you don’t it’d be a lot more productive, and beneficial for the rest of the world, if you’d simple keep your life opinions to yourself, not force others how they choose to live their life, and do not apply absolute ownership over anything, such as a god, w/out proof, or evidence. Christianity if could possibly even be considered this, would be a ‘theory’ nothing more then an idea, supported by arguments, that make it explainable. In which case, that’s hard to even see as a correct statement, being the earth was believed to be flat back then. As far as we can visually see, we have come to terms w/ the earth being round. A book at which most have not even read, nothing more then an annual service(church), or a belief taken from those around you(perhaps during your childhood.. you accepted god, because your parents did). But, I am not telling you any of this to mock you, just don’t bull-shit people w/ your personal life prophecy. (This man is allowed to cut his hand off if he wants, it’s his hands. More on subject, the Bible is rarely to be taken literally. It is filled with metaphors. My interpretation of when it says “if your right hand causes you to sin cut it off.” is just a dramatic way of saying ‘If your doing something bad, and you know it. Its better to stop doing that action and to pray for forgiveness than to stay bitter with god and to do that action.’
He may have an illness, but it certainly isnt christianity.
